In 1997 I began looking for sources to build an e-commerce web site for a specialty health care uniform business. I was quickly disappointed. In searching for companies to develop, host and promote our site, we found that all the big name companies in town wanted a small fortune just to host the site, let alone design it, and very few wanted to promote it. Frustrated, but undaunted, I decided to build the site myself. Having developed a sizable web site for the company that I had worked for at the time, I had the knowledge and skills to put it all together. I registered the domain name, found a company that would lease server space, bought a web based shopping cart program that included merchant processing and proceeded to design the site in my spare time. Within three months we were up and running, offering over two dozen products on-line. Over the years one thing led to another and I soon found myself developing sites for other local companies. A web site was needed to support the services I offered, so Omaha Web Host was created. Although we continue to expand our services, we have never lost site of the customers needs.
